Energy Efficient and Progressive: K-12 District Creates 21st-Century Learning Environment

Limestone County Schools recently completed one of the largest public renovation initiatives in Alabama. One of the largest and most successful. With an eye on becoming more energy efficient, the district made significant upgrades to all 13 campuses in the county, saving $500,000 annually. Not only did the district cut electricity and water use, it also replaced outdated lights, windows, air-conditioners and other technology – creating comfortable, modern facilities for students and teachers, and providing an environmental and economic boost to the community.
